The next chapter of TNC

Starting with the distribution of Dell Workstations for office work, TNC Computer recognized very early on the rise of gaming culture and quickly shifted its business model from B2B to B2C, serving the fast-growing market of computer gamers. After 5 years of operation, it had grown to become one of the more recognizable distributors of PCs, Laptops and computer components among hundreds of outlets in the City of Hanoi.

But as the market for specialized gaming computers got crowded, TNC again needed to move; aiming for the mass market as tech products and digital entertainment are becoming more mainstream for Vietnamese. This time, its challenge is a few well-established distributors with years of dominance in the market.

Standing out among giants

At the time, major PC distributors in the industry look similar in many ways; the same simple logotype, the same usage of red and blue colors, similar e-commerce website templates, and most importantly their physical stores are often clustered on the same streets.

Our task was to reinvent TNC Computer through a complete visual overhaul – providing a way for the brand to stand out in both digital and physical space. The new Logotype, therefore, was designed to be big and bold, accompanied by a slanted rectangle as a background to attract the most attention.

Design with clear intention

That simple slanted rectangle was also developed into a comprehensive visual system, creating the connection of the whole system with the logo. This is the solution to practically maximize brand recall among its target audience at different touchpoints where the Logo is not the dominant graphical element, which is important for a newly established brand with a small media budget.

A neon color palette and a square techno typeface were also chosen to remind people of the category that TNC Computer is in.

And the new system was then translated to different touchpoints. We completely revamped the website, not only with the new visual to make it stand out but also with new improvements for user experience. The new feature ‘Build Now’ allows people with limited understanding of computer components to quickly draft their dream machine based on their use cases.

TNC Computer’s popular YouTube Channel also got a complete makeover, hoping to grow from a sales-oriented review channel to a fully developed media arm with market influence.
